HEALING

SOUND

Where deep listening becomes medicine and presence creates space for truth to rise.

RETURNING TO YOUR NATURAL RHYTHM

My work with sound healing isn’t just something I learned — it’s something I live.

After moving to Ecuador, slowing down, reconnecting with nature, and healing my own nervous system, I discovered how powerful sound is for grounding, emotional release, and coming back home to yourself.

You may know me as a photographer, but sound became another way I tell stories — not with images, but with vibration. Stories stored in the body. Stories waiting to be released.

Sound healing helped me regulate my nervous system, breathe deeper, and become more present — especially as a mother. Teaching my son how to breathe by the river reminded me: healing doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be gentle. Natural. Ancestral.

BRAINWAVE STATES

Beta Waves (14–30 Hz) – Awake & Alert

This is your normal waking state. When overstimulated, or in high beta mode, it can lead to stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue. Your sympathetic nervous system is active. Your body is not healing but is stuck in fight or flight mode. This is where most people are stuck and seek sound healing.

Sound healing effect:

Slows excessive beta activity and calms the mind, helps shift the body into parasympathetic states promoting natural healing.

Alpha Waves (8–13 Hz) – Calm & Creative

This state appears during meditation, light relaxation, and creative flow.

Sound healing effect:

Encourages stress relief, emotional balance, and clarity.

Theta Waves (4–7 Hz) – Deep Relaxation & Healing

Associated with dreams, deep meditation, and emotional release.

Sound healing effect:

Supports trauma release, intuition, and subconscious healing.

Delta Waves (0.5–3 Hz) – Deep Sleep & Regeneration

This is where physical healing and cellular repair occur.

Sound healing effect:

Promotes deep rest, immune support, and nervous system reset.

How Sound Healing Works with Your Brain & Body

Your brain communicates through electrical frequencies called brainwaves. These waves shift depending on your emotional and mental state. Sound helps guide you into the states where healing naturally happens.

How sound healing works in the body:

1. Entrainment

Your brain naturally syncs to external rhythms. When you hear a steady frequency (from bowls, gongs, or chimes), your brainwaves begin to match it—guiding you into a meditative state.

2. Nervous System Regulation

Sound activates the vagus nerve, shifting you from fight-or-flight into rest-and-digest mode. This lowers cortisol, heart rate, and blood pressure.

3. Cellular Vibration

Your body is over 70% water. Sound travels through water easily, meaning vibrations move through tissues, muscles, and organs—supporting release and circulation.

4. Emotional Release

Stored emotions can surface gently through sound. Many people experience tears, warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of peace.
